Percussion sticks, also called claves, are hit against each other and thus produce a short, dry sound without reverberation. They originally come from Africa, but have taken root mainly in the Cuban musical styles. The claves are a simple, rhythmic instrument for children aged three and over. It’s a great way to learn about rhythm, hone those fine motor skills, and well, just simply experience the joy of music from early on!
